The NFL Turns to AI to Elevate the Game

The NFL is embracing AI technology to enhance accuracy and fairness on the field, starting with the introduction of the Hawk-Eye system. As reported by Bleacher Report, this technology will be used in select 2024 preseason games to help
measure the line to gain
providing precise
real-time data on the position of
players
officials
and the ball.
This move is expected to reduce human error and make the game even more accurate.
A similar system, TruLine, is already being used in the UFL, as noted in a tweet by Joe Pompliano.
Here’s a look at the UFL’s Tru Line Technology.
It uses six 4K optical tracking cameras throughout each stadium to measure the spot of a ball in seconds.
The NFL tested similar technology at several games last year — like the Hawk-Eye system in tennis.

Elon Musk Backs California’s New AI Bill
In an unexpected move, Elon Musk has voiced his support for California’s new AI legislation, SB-1047, which aims to regulate AI development and ensure ethical standards.

As reported by TechCrunch, Musk believes this bill is a necessary step to keep AI safe and prevent potential risks as the technology advances. His backing has added weight to the ongoing debate around AI governance.
The SB-1047 bill, as explained by Aftermath User on X, focuses on creating transparency and accountability in AI systems, particularly those used in critical areas like healthcare and public safety.
California’s AI safety bill, SB 1047, has sparked controversy by mandating safety measures for AI models, dividing tech leaders between those fearing stifled innovation and those advocating for proactive regulation.

Prompt Engineering 101: The Key to Unlocking AI’s Potential
Prompt engineering is quickly becoming a vital skill in the AI world, enabling users to get the best results from AI models like ChatGPT.

As outlined in a Medium article, prompt engineering involves crafting specific and clear instructions to guide AI responses.
🧐 It’s all about asking the right questions for the most accurate and useful answers.
Leonie’s post on X provides real-world examples of prompt strategies, showing how slight changes in phrasing can drastically improve AI output.
Prompt engineering is the first step towards getting an LLM to output what you want.
There are many different techniques.
Here’s a short list of common prompt templates and prompt engineering techniques.
